ABOUT

Returning to Europe after a three-year virtual hiatus, the 23nd Annual U.S. and Europe Tax Practice Trends Conference and associated workshops, cosponsored by the ABA Tax Section, IBA Taxes Committee, and IFA–USA, will take place March 29-31, 2023. The Wealth Management and Young Lawyer Workshops will be held on March 29 at Bär & Karrer and the Conference will be held on March 30-31 at The Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich, Switzerland. Panels will focus on practical tax practice trends for multinational corporations and their international advisors, as well as provide insight into how government tax officials may view the international tax landscape in light of important international developments that impact corporate taxpayers.

HIGHLIGHTS

Stanley Ruchelman is scheduled to co-chair a panel with the working title, Laws Designed Before Mobility: How to Adapt?, scheduled for Friday, March 31, 2023 from 14:45 – 16:00 hours C.E.T. Among the items scheduled to be addressed are (i) O.E.C.D. guidance on employees assigned to work from their homes in foreign countries, (ii) comments of the European Economic and Social Committee on remote workers (iii) senior executives who wish to work at least part time from a second home abroad, (iv) places of management as a P.E., (iv) recent cases, and (vi) the phenomenon of nomad visas.
